Dodda Davana (Artemisia nilagirica)

Artemisia nilagirica is a plant native to India. The leaves of this plant contain artemisinin, which has been used for centuries to treat malaria. Artemisinin is also one of the key ingredients in the antimalarial drug Artecombin.

The plant was first discovered by Dr. Sushil Kumar Gupta at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore and his team published their findings in the Journal of Natural Products. They found that the chemical compound contained within the leaves of A. nilagirica had potent anti-malaria properties.

In addition to its use as an antimalarial agent, A. nilagiricum can be used to treat other conditions such as diabetes, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis.

The plant Artemisia nilagirica has been used for centuries in India for treating various ailments such as fever, coughs, colds, bronchitis, asthma, rheumatism, skin diseases, and stomach disorders. This herb is also known to be effective against malaria.
