Onion chives (Allium schoenoprasum)

Asian Chives are a close relative of Onion and they have been flavoring our savory dishes for hundreds of years. Their flat leaves, stalks, unopened buds are used in a similar way to chives or garlic and are included as a stir fry ingredient in the dishes. In a number of North Eastern states of India, these Asian Chives are used as a substitute for onion and garlic.
