Nilgiri davana (Artemisia nilagirica)

Indian Wormwood is an aromatic woody shrub. The strong aroma, though pleasant to us, is disliked by insects. Our ancestors put these leaves in cupboards and boxes to deter insects from going there. In North East India the locals use these leaves to prepare a hair-care lotion called Chinghi.
