Night Queen (Cestrum nocturnum)

Raat Ki Rani or Night Queen is a tall shrub with dark glossy leaves and flowers that bloom only during the night. Although their flowers are not too prominent the sweet, chocolate-like heady fragrance is so strong that it leaves some people with a headache. Winds heavy with this fragrance act as an invitation for a number of insect pollinators of the night. The sap from the plant and the fruits they bear are known to be highly toxic to humans.
