The family name comes from the Greek word “epi” meaning above and “phyllo” meaning leaf.

Indirect sunlight will prevent the burning of leaves in peak summers.

Propagation 

You can propagate this plant by taking a leaf cutting. To do so, take a cutting from the fleshy stem leaves of your plant or mature leaves. Take a piece of root ball and insert the erect leaf into a pot filled with moistened peat moss.

Place the pot in a sunny location. After three days, move the pot to a shady spot. After a couple of weeks, when the tip of the cutting starts to sprout, you know that it's time to transplant it into a larger container or a larger plastic pot. 

Keep your Brahma kamal away from drafts. If you keep it near windows, then it might lose moisture.

When you water your plant, make sure that the soil is completely soaked.
