Steps to grow your flowering plants:

1) Choose your location

Before starting any gardening project, make sure that you have enough space. You will need room for your plants to grow and plenty of sunlight and direct light. A sunny spot and warm climates are good to grow flowers and vegetables. Understand the light requirements of different types of plants and place them accordingly. Most flowering plants will require 6-8 hours of sunlight.

2) Prepare the ground or your containers

Before planting anything, prepare the ground by digging out weeds and removing rocks and debris. This step is very important because if you do not prepare the soil properly, you may end up with a lot of problems later on down the road. Healthy soil will give you healthy plants. If you are growing plants in pots, you will need the right potting soil which should be well-draining soil. The soil surface should be loose and aerated for the proper growth of the roots. The soil should be mixed with manure and prepared so that the rich soil, the fertile soil has the required nutrients for the plant to grow well.

3) Start with seeds or seedlings

Starting plants from seed is an easy way to grow the plants that you require. Seeds can be sown in seedling trays for beginners in gardening. For advanced gardeners, seeds can be started in any containers or plastic bottles as well. The seeds should be sown at the right depth for germination (generally a few inches below the top layer of soil). With the right conditions like adequate light, warm temperatures, and water, these seeds will sprout into baby plants. Initially, these baby plants can be lightly sprayed with water with the help of a spray bottle to not damage the plant. When they have grown about 3-4 inches tall they can be transplanted to a bigger container.

If you decide to buy seeds, be sure to purchase organic ones. Also, make sure that you use the proper type of seed. Make sure that you know what kind of seed you are buying before you begin. Generally, the seed packet will have the instructions to sow the seeds.

4) Water and feed

After you have planted your seeds, water them regularly so they can grow into healthy plants. Be sure to keep the soil moist but not wet. Moist soil is required for the germination process.

Plants require rich, well-drained soil whether it is in containers or the ground. You can water your plants either during early mornings or late evenings. This will promote better growth as watering during the daytime with peak sun will cause heat stress due to higher day temperatures.

5) Caring for your plant

Care for your plant will depend on the type of plant you are growing. Indoor plants will require indirect sunlight while flowering plants and vegetable plants require bright light and direct sunlight. Some of the indoor plants with green foliage with less light requirements are Jade plants, Snake plants, Spider plants, Cast iron plants, dumb cane. A full-sun spot will be appreciated by fragrant flowers and veggies which require lots of sunlight.

6) Prune

After your plants have grown, it is time to prune them. Remove all dead leaves and branches. This helps the plant to stay strong and healthy and grow new green leaves. Repotting your plants is important as well. Generally repotting can be done once a year when they have grown into larger plants or when the plant root has overgrown the container that they are in.

7) Fertilize

Fertilizing your plants is essential to their growth. Use an organic fertilizer that contains both nitrogen and phosphorous. Jeevamrutha is a liquid fertilizer that is very good for the well-being of your plants. These nutrients help your plants to grow bigger and stronger.
